Virat Kohli kicked off the IPL 2024 season with a blazing century for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their clash against the Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur last Saturday.
Kohli reached his century off just 67 deliveries after RCB was put into bat. With this century, Kohli now boasts a remarkable tally of eight IPL centuries and nine overall in his T20 career.
Leading the chart for the most hundreds in IPL history, Kohli has now notched up seven centuries in the tournament.
The 35-year-old batsman had an outstanding performance last season, scoring two centuries and accumulating 639 runs in 14 matches. Additionally, this century against RR is now his highest score against them in the IPL.
After an eight-season drought without a century, Kohli ended the dry spell with an exceptional four centuries in the IPL 2016 season, where he led his team to the finals. Kohli’s staggering total of 973 runs in that season still stands as the benchmark in the league.
