Coming this May, Marvel Rivals, a new free-to-play PC title, will immerse players into the Marvel universe like never before. With an initial lineup of 18 iconic characters, including heroes like Black Panther, Doctor Strange, and Spider-Man, as well as villains like Loki and Magneto, players will engage in thrilling superhero team-based battles.
Developed by NetEase Games, Marvel Rivals will introduce players to a dynamic world where universes collide in the Timestream Entanglement, driven by the clash between Doctor Doom and his future counterpart. As superheroes and supervillains join forces or clash against each other, players will experience an ever-evolving narrative crafted by the NetEase writing team.
The game promises a robust post-launch support plan, including seasonal updates with new characters, maps, and content. Jay Ong, head of Marvel Games, expressed excitement about this ambitious project, highlighting the collaboration with NetEase Games to deliver the ultimate superhero team-based PVP shooter.
Thaddeus Sasser, director at NetEase Games, emphasized the familial dynamic of superhero teams and the strategic depth of gameplay. Players can utilize team-up abilities to enhance attacks or defenses, such as Rocket Raccoon riding on Groot’s shoulders into battle or using Doctor Strange’s portals for tactical advantages. With countless combinations to discover, players will strive to ensure their team emerges victorious in the ultimate showdown.
