Marco Troper, the 19-year-old son of former YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki, tragically passed away at the University of California, Berkeley’s Clark Kerr Campus. His grandmother, Esther Wojcicki, confirmed his identity and death in a heartfelt Facebook post, expressing profound devastation.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when authorities found Troper unresponsive at approximately 4:23 p.m. UC Berkeley spokesperson Janet Gilmore stated that despite efforts by the Berkeley Fire Department to administer life-saving measures, Troper was pronounced dead upon their arrival.
While investigations are ongoing, there are currently no indications of foul play, according to Gilmore. Troper, in his second semester as a freshman, was described by his grandmother as a bright and enthusiastic student majoring in mathematics at UC Berkeley.
Esther Wojcicki highlighted Troper’s academic success and vibrant social life, noting his involvement in both dormitory and fraternity communities.
