Taylor Swift’s highly anticipated concert film, “The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version),” made its streaming debut on Disney+ and has quickly become a record-breaking success. Within just three days of its release, the film garnered a remarkable 4.6 million views, making it the most-watched music film in the history of the platform.
Over the weekend following its debut, fans spent a staggering 16.2 million hours watching the three-and-a-half-hour-long film, which features performances from Swift’s career-spanning Eras Tour set. This achievement surpasses previous records set by music films such as “The Beatles: Get Back” and “Black Is King: A Film by Beyoncé.”
Exclusive to Disney+, “The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)” includes additional acoustic performances of beloved songs like “Death by a Thousand Cuts,” “I Can See You,” “Maroon,” and “You Are in Love.” Swift also added back performances of “The Archer,” “Long Live,” and “Wildest Dreams” for the streaming release.
Since its initial release, the concert film has shattered records, selling the most tickets on the first day of sales at AMC Theatres and achieving the highest-grossing opening for a concert film. Directed by Sam Welch, it has become one of the highest-earning concert films in history, second only to Michael Jackson’s “This Is It.”
Reflecting on the film’s success, Swift expressed gratitude to her fans for their enthusiastic response, noting their joyous reactions and engagement with the film’s content. Originally filmed during Swift’s shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in August 2023, “The Eras Tour” continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its immersive concert experience.
