Taylor Swift’s New Track Sparks Speculation: Kim Kardashian loses more than 500k followers on Instagram after diss track

Fans are abuzz with speculation that Taylor Swift’s latest track, “Thank you aIMee,” featured on her new album “The Tortured Poets Department,” is a pointed reference to her past feud with Kim Kardashian. The song seems to revisit the long-standing tension between the two celebrities, stemming from an incident at the 2009 VMAs when Kanye West famously interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech, claiming Beyoncé should have won instead.

Following the release of Swift’s album, there has been a noticeable decline in Kim Kardashian’s Instagram follower count. Prior to the album’s debut, Kardashian boasted a substantial following of 364.3 million. However, since the release of “thanK you aIMee,” her follower count has dwindled to 363.8 million, indicating a loss of over 500,000 followers. Social media users have flooded Kardashian’s recent posts with references to Swift’s song, with many simply commenting “thanK you aIMee” or making allusions to the ongoing saga between the two stars.

The history between Swift and Kardashian traces back to West’s 2016 song “Famous,” which reignited tensions between the musicians. Swift denounced the track as misogynistic, particularly objecting to the line, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that b*tch famous.” In an effort to defend her husband, Kardashian released edited video clips of a phone call conversation between West and Swift, purportedly showing Swift approving the controversial lyrics. However, Swift later asserted that she was not made fully aware of the song’s content during the call.

The fallout from this incident has been a recurring theme in Swift’s subsequent albums, notably in “Reputation” released in 2017, where she addresses the controversy through various tracks.

Swift’s new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” comprising 31 songs, appears to reference a multitude of celebrities and artists, including Charlie Puth, Matty Healy, Joe Alwyn, Clara Bow, Stevie Nicks, and Patti Smith, further fueling speculation and discussion among fans and media alike.
