Attention Swifties, mark your calendars for March 14, not March 15!
Taylor Swift has just made a surprising announcement. Her highly anticipated Eras Tour concert movie, which was originally scheduled for release on March 15, will now be available a few hours earlier, hitting Disney+ screens at 6 p.m. (PST)/9 p.m. (EST) on March 14.
The news was revealed via Taylor Nation, her official marketing account, on Instagram, alongside a fresh trailer teasing the event. Captioned “Her name is Taylor, and she’ll be your host ✨ a few hours earlier ✨ than expected!” the trailer features the opening piano notes of Swift’s “Maroon” from her song “Midnights.”
In February, Swift had hinted at the movie’s arrival on Disney+ with the return of her song “Cardigan” from the album “Folklore,” which had been omitted from the theatrical version and was later nominated for a Golden Globe.
Expressing her excitement on Instagram, Swift said, “This week is truly the best kind of chaos.” She revealed that the movie would feature the entire concert, including “Cardigan,” along with four additional acoustic songs. The event has been aptly dubbed “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version).”
Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney, also expressed his admiration for Swift in a statement, calling “The Eras Tour” a “true phenomenon” that continues to captivate fans worldwide. He expressed Disney’s excitement to exclusively bring this electrifying concert to Disney+ audiences.
Swift is currently performing in Singapore as part of the tour, with the Singapore leg set to conclude on Saturday. Following a two-month break, she will then head to Paris, France, to continue the tour.
