Taylor Swift, following her recent triumph with four People’s Choice Awards, has now been crowned the biggest global artist of 2023. The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) declared Swift the winner of the Global Artist Chart on Wednesday, February 21, marking her second consecutive year securing this honor. Notably, Swift has made history by claiming this prestigious title for the fourth time, further solidifying her status as a music industry powerhouse.

Taylor Swift Reigns as 2023’s Global Artist Champion

IFPI took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce Taylor Swift’s latest feat with the message: “#1 – Taylor Swift. The unstoppable @taylorswift13 returns to claim the throne at No. 1 for the 2nd consecutive year, breaking her record as the first-ever 4x Global Artist Chart winner. Congratulations Taylor, you are officially the #1 Global Artist of the Year!”

The year 2023 proved to be a monumental one for Swift. Alongside numerous other accolades, including being named Time’s Person of the Year and Spotify’s Global Top Artist, the Blank Space singer continued her streak of success.

But it seems the 34-year-old pop icon was just getting started. Swift kicked off 2024 by clinching her 13th Grammy Award, further underscoring her unwavering dedication to her craft. With previous wins in 2014, 2019, 2022, and 2023, Swift’s consistent achievements speak volumes about her enduring influence.

Claiming the second spot on the IFPI list was the renowned K-pop group SEVENTEEN. Among the 20 artists and groups featured, Lana Del Rey secured the 10th spot as the only other female musician besides Swift. The list of winners also includes K-pop group Stray Kids, Drake, The Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Morgan Wallen, Ed Sheeran, Eminem, Travis Scott, Kanye West, Post Malone, and Zach Bryan.
