In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a shooting occurred outside Drake’s Toronto mansion, resulting in serious injuries to a security guard, as confirmed by the police.
The incident took place shortly after 2 a.m. at a residence situated on Park Lane Circle, as detailed in a post by law enforcement on X.
Although the Toronto-born rapper, who has been in the spotlight recently due to a rap feud with Kendrick Lamar, was reported to be unharmed, it remains unclear if he was present during the shooting.
Upon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered the security guard, who had sustained a gunshot wound, outside a gate, as explained by Inspector Paul Krawczyk during a press briefing. The guard is currently hospitalized in serious condition.
Authorities stated that a suspect fled in a vehicle following the incident. While details such as the number of suspects and the type of car involved remain unknown, footage of the shooting has been captured.
Given the early stage of the investigation, Krawczyk highlighted the unclear motive behind the shooting, though detectives have been liaising with Drake’s team for information.
