A tilt truck from Sydney has been spotted at the Bungonia crime scene, where it removed a tender boat for forensic testing. This boat is linked to Strike Force Ashfordby, which is investigating the deaths of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies.
According to an officer on-site speaking to the Goulburn Post, divers are set to wrap up their activities by 2 pm. They noted that the boat seemed to be dry.
Assisting in the search are five local officers, including two detectives. Earlier today, police were observed combing through the grass at the Hazleton Road property.
“The search methods employed by the police include raking, diving, and a line search,” mentioned one of the officers at the scene.
At Hazleton Road, where officers from Strike Force Ashfordby are concentrating their efforts, police are currently conducting a property rake.
Initially, media were allowed onto the property after the removal of the tape cordoning off the area, but they’ve since been asked to step back.
This activity follows the news from February 25 that divers were aiding in the search as part of the investigation into the deaths of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies.
An earlier report from a Goulburn Post journalist described the location as serene bushland at the junction of Hazleton Road and Coolabah Road in Bungonia.
Additionally, a helicopter has been observed circling the area.
These developments come in the wake of Constable Beau Lamarre-Condon being charged with two counts of murder after presenting himself at Bondi Police Station on February 23. He has been denied bail.
Police allege that Mr. Lamarre-Condon, aged 28, shot both men with a NSW Police firearm at Mr. Baird’s residence in Paddington. A bullet casing and a bullet believed to match Mr. Lamarre-Condon’s issued gun, were reportedly discovered at the scene.
