Ferrari Confirms Oliver Bearman to Replace Carlos Sainz at Saudi Arabian Grand Prix
In an unexpected turn of events, Ferrari has announced that Oliver Bearman will be stepping into the shoes of Carlos Sainz for the upcoming Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Sainz, unfortunately, has been diagnosed with appendicitis, necessitating his absence from the race weekend in Jeddah.
As a result of Bearman’s elevation to the race seat, he will not be competing with PREMA Racing for the remainder of the Formula 2 weekend, with the team entering only one car for the rest of Round 2.
A statement released by Ferrari confirms that Bearman will take to the track in the SF-24 from Free Practice 3 onwards.
“Carlos Sainz has been diagnosed with appendicitis and will require surgery.
“As from FP3 and for the rest of this weekend, he will be replaced by Reserve Driver Oliver Bearman. Oliver will therefore take no further part in this round of the F2 Championship.
“The Ferrari family wishes Carlos a speedy recovery.”
