Seraphina Affleck, the teenager known as Fin Affleck, announced their new name during Jennifer Garner’s father’s memorial service on March 30. Speaking at the streamed service on the Charleston, West Virginia, Christ Church United Methodist Facebook page, the 15-year-old said, “Hello, my name is Fin Affleck,” while sporting a black suit, tie, and buzz cut.
This new moniker was first revealed in February when Fin debuted a buzz cut and was seen wearing a backpack with “FIN” embroidered on it. Fin is one of three children of Ben Affleck, 51, and Jennifer Garner, 51, who divorced in 2018 but maintain an amicable co-parenting relationship.
Ben Affleck is now married to Jennifer Lopez, 54, who confirmed in 2022 that their child, Emme, 16, uses gender-neutral pronouns. Emme and Fin have grown close as stepsiblings, navigating life in their blended family. Jennifer has spoken openly about the joys and challenges of raising five kids, highlighting the emotional transition of blending families and the complexities of parenting teenagers.
