SAG Awards 2024 full winner list: Celebrating Excellence in Acting

The 30th annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards took place on Saturday at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles, making history by streaming live worldwide on Netflix. This departure from tradition meant viewers enjoyed an uncensored and uninterrupted broadcast.

Familiar faces graced the winner’s circle, with actors from “The Bear,” “Oppenheimer,” and “Beef” claiming their well-deserved accolades. Expected frontrunners like Lily Gladstone from “Killers of the Flower Moon” and Da’Vine Joy Randolph of “The Holdovers” also clinched trophies.

In the absence of a designated host, Idris Elba took on the role informally, bookending the show with charisma and humor, much to the delight of the audience.

Presenters included a star-studded lineup featuring Billie Eilish, Jessica Chastain, America Ferrera, Robert Downey Jr., and SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher, among others.

Jennifer Aniston had the honor of presenting the SAG Life Achievement award to Barbra Streisand, praising her as “a mensch” and acknowledging her legendary voice. Bradley Cooper joined in paying tribute to Streisand.

Reflecting on her more than 60 years as a SAG-AFTRA member, Streisand delivered a poignant acceptance speech, reminiscing about her dreams as a Brooklyn teen and advocating for a world free of prejudice.

The evening kicked off with a special reunion of the stars from “The Devil Wears Prada” – Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Emily Blunt. Other notable cast reunions included “Breaking Bad” and Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis from “The Fly.”

Leading the nominations in television was the cast of “Succession,” securing the coveted award for best ensemble. In the motion picture categories, “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” emerged with four nominations each, with “Oppenheimer” ultimately clinching three wins, while “Barbie” left empty-handed.
