A year ago, it was the Super Kings who emerged victorious in a nail-biting IPL final, despite Sai Sudharsan’s valiant 47-ball 96 for the Titans. However, fate had a different plan this time around as Sudharsan redeemed himself with a scintillating maiden IPL century, a blazing 103 off just 51 deliveries (5 fours, 7 sixes).
His counterpart, GT skipper Shubman Gill, matched him with a majestic century of his own, scoring 104 runs off 55 balls (9 fours, 6 sixes). Together, they orchestrated a commanding 210-run opening partnership, propelling their team to a commanding position and securing a crucial 35-run victory over the Super Kings, thus leveling the score in their ongoing IPL rivalry.
