Reportedly, Taylor Swift has declined a substantial offer to perform at a private event in the United Arab Emirates. The renowned pop icon, currently preparing for the launch of her 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” was presented with a generous sum of $9 million, as per French Montana. This offer comes amidst a trend highlighted by a 2023 Forbes report, showcasing how pop sensations such as Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, and Bruno Mars have earned millions through private performances, with Beyoncé leading the pack.
French Montana, the stage name of Moroccan-American rapper Karim Kharbouch, recently shared a screenshot of the offer on his social media. Though he obscured the identity of the other performer, he disclosed receiving a $1 million offer, juxtaposing it with the $9 million offer made to the mystery artist in December.
In a now-deleted post, Montana teased his followers, asking them to speculate who the $9 million offer was for. However, he later revealed in an interview with VladTV that the recipient of the significant offer was none other than Taylor Swift, a 14-time Grammy winner.
“They had a show offer for me and Taylor — her $9 million, me $1 million,” he disclosed, hinting at the luxurious locale of “somewhere in Emirates.”
Why did she reject such a huge offer?
Although the reason behind the “Bad Blood” singer’s rejection of the substantial deal remains a mystery, it’s evident that money isn’t a pressing concern. Recently, Forbes crowned her as one of the wealthiest musicians globally, marking her as the first musician to achieve a billion-dollar status solely through her music and performances.
At 34 years old, the pop sensation has accumulated an estimated fortune of $1.1 billion, attributed to earnings from her record-breaking tours, the value of her extensive music catalog, and her investments in real estate.
Beyonce cash in big
In contrast, Beyoncé has embraced the opportunity to amass millions through successive private performances. According to a 2023 Forbes report, Beyoncé headlined the grand opening of the opulent ‘Atlantis the Royal hotel in Dubai, commanding a jaw-dropping $24 million for a one-hour set. Additionally, she graced the 2018 pre-wedding celebration of the daughter of Mukesh Ambani, the 9th richest individual globally, reportedly earning approximately $4.7 million.
Reports also indicate that at an event hosted by Russian billionaire Andrei Melnichenko, pop sensation Jennifer Lopez earned an astounding $2.8 million. Similarly, David Brooks, former body armor magnate, shelled out $2.9 million to have Aerosmith perform at his daughter’s birthday bash. In 2011, Billboard disclosed that Celine Dion was booked for 2-3 private events annually, commanding a hefty fee ranging between $8.5 million for each performance.
