City police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects involved in an attempted child abduction in southeast Edmonton on Thursday.
According to a Saturday news release, the incident occurred around 7:20 p.m. when a “Sprinter-style cargo van” was seen traveling east on 38 Avenue near 55 Street. The van, occupied by two females, approached a 12-year-old boy walking home. One of the women exited the van and instructed the boy to get in, but he ran home and reported the incident to the police.
The van is described as a black or dark grey, tall “Amazon” style or Sprinter-like cargo van. The woman who spoke to the boy is described as a white female, approximately 30 years old, with a medium build, shoulder-length brown hair, and wearing a black dress.
