PM Modi says Article 370′ Movie to Provide Accurate Information to People

During a rally in Jammu on February 20th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned an upcoming movie centered on Article 370, suggesting its potential to provide accurate information to the public. He expressed his anticipation, indicating that the film’s release could resonate nationwide.

Addressing a gathering at Maulana Azad Stadium, PM Modi acknowledged his limited knowledge about the film’s specifics but emphasized its significance in conveying factual insights to the audience. He stated, “I do not know what the film is all about but yesterday I heard on TV that a film is coming on Article 370. Good, it will be useful for people to get correct information.”

Yami Gautam, in response to PM Modi’s remarks, shared his speech on Instagram, expressing gratitude for the recognition of the film titled “Article 370.” She conveyed her team’s commitment to exceeding expectations in portraying the story on screen.

Produced by Aditya Dhar, known for “Uri: The Surgical Strike,” the film stars Yami Gautam as an intelligence agent and revolves around the nullification of Article 370 to counter terrorism in Kashmir. The Central government revoked Article 370 on August 5, 2019, leading to the transformation of Jammu and Kashmir into union territories.

Featuring a star-studded cast including Yami Gautam, Priyamani, and Arun Govil, the movie is set to release on February 23 under the direction of Aditya Suhas Jambhale. Its release precedes the upcoming parliamentary elections, adding to the public’s anticipation regarding the portrayal of Article 370’s revocation.

Supreme Court Validates Abrogation of Article 370

On December 11th, the Supreme Court affirmed the central government’s action to revoke Article 370 of the Constitution, asserting that Jammu & Kashmir does not possess internal sovereignty distinct from other states of India. Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, along with Justices Gavai and Surya Kant, penned the judgment, stating, “All provisions of the Indian Constitution can be applied to J-K… We affirm the exercise of presidential authority to issue a constitutional order abolishing Article 370 as legitimate.” The five-judge bench of the apex court also upheld the government’s decision to establish the union territory of Ladakh, separating it from the former state of Jammu & Kashmir.
