During Troconis’ trial, jurors were shown interrogation footage where she admitted to lying about seeing Fotis Dulos at their home on the morning Jennifer vanished. Troconis maintained her innocence regarding any involvement or knowledge of the crimes alleged against Fotis Dulos.
Prosecutors presented compelling evidence, including surveillance footage showing Fotis Dulos and Troconis disposing of items in trash cans on the day of Jennifer’s disappearance. Among the items retrieved were zip ties, gloves, and stained clothing, which prosecutors asserted were linked to the crime.
In her closing arguments, prosecutor Michelle Manning emphasized the evidence implicating Fotis Dulos and Troconis in a conspiracy to murder Jennifer. Defense attorney Jon Schoenhorn maintained Troconis’ innocence, arguing that she was unaware of Fotis Dulos’ intentions.
Despite the defense’s efforts, the jury found Troconis guilty on all charges. State’s Attorney Paul Ferencek expressed hope that the verdict would provide some solace to Jennifer’s loved ones while reaffirming the state’s commitment to uncovering the truth.
Troconis, devastated by the verdict, awaits sentencing scheduled for May 31. Meanwhile, Jennifer Dulos’ mother has been granted custody of her five children.
Additionally, Fotis Dulos’ friend and former lawyer, Kent Mawhinney, faces accusations of involvement in the cover-up and awaits trial after pleading not guilty to conspiracy to commit murder.
