A royal expert has claimed that Meghan Markle paid a “heartfelt tribute” to Princess Diana during her tour of Nigeria. Meghan and Prince Harry visited Nigeria at the invitation of Christopher Musa, the country’s highest-ranking military official.
James Harris, the Regional Sales Manager at Austen & Blake, highlighted that the Duchess of Sussex wore significant pieces of jewellery throughout the trip. “During Meghan Markle’s three-day visit to Nigeria with Prince Harry, she wore jewellery imbued with personal meaning,” he told GB News.
Meghan Markle paid a heartfelt tribute to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, during her recent tour of Nigeria, according to royal expert James Harris. Meghan and Prince Harry traveled to Nigeria after receiving an invitation from Christopher Musa, the highest-ranking military official in the West African country.
James Harris, the Regional Sales Manager at Austen & Blake, pointed out that the Duchess of Sussex adorned herself with jewelry of significant personal meaning throughout the trip. Speaking to GB News, Harris noted, “Meghan Markle’s three-day visit to Nigeria with Prince Harry saw her wearing jewelry full of personal meaning.”
“She paid a heartfelt tribute to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana with a delicate cross-pendant adorned with sparkling diamonds set on a gold chain,” Harris continued. He explained that this necklace originally belonged to Princess Diana and is believed to be from her private collection. Meghan wore the necklace with an elegant strapless column linen dress, with her hair swept up to highlight the beautiful accessory. This ensemble was seen on May 11, when Meghan attended a reception for military families in Abuja. Harry reportedly gifted this necklace to Meghan recently, adding to its sentimental value.
On the first day of her visit, Meghan was also photographed wearing a gold collar necklace. Harris pointed out that this piece was reminiscent of a necklace Princess Diana wore during her visit to Nigeria over 30 years ago with King Charles. Diana and Charles visited Nigeria in 1990, and the similar style of jewelry worn by Meghan was a subtle nod to Diana’s past presence in the country.
In addition to these significant pieces, Meghan also wore her engagement ring, a symbol of her and Harry’s love. The ring, featuring a trilogy design, was given to her by Harry when he proposed in 2017. “Her staple trilogy engagement ring, wedding band, and eternity rings also graced her finger,” Harris remarked.
Another notable piece of jewelry seen on Meghan was a pair of hammered gold medallion earrings, which added a playful touch to her look. Harris commented, “Meghan didn’t shy away from experimenting with colors either.”
During a charity polo match, Meghan added a pop of color to her ensemble by pairing red beaded earrings with her taupe floral pattern dress. Harris appreciated how Meghan effortlessly carried off all her yellow gold statement jewelry pieces, saying they perfectly captured the warmth and vibrance of summer.
Through her thoughtfully chosen jewelry, Meghan Markle honored Princess Diana’s legacy while showcasing her own unique style during her meaningful tour of Nigeria.
