Mayank Yadav, the pace sensation for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), has been dominating the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 with his formidable bowling performances. Clocking speeds over 150 kmph, Yadav’s lightning-fast deliveries have been instrumental in securing several victories for Lucknow in the ongoing T20 league.
The secret behind Yadav’s express pace? According to his mother, Mamta Yadav, the young speedster recently transitioned to a vegetarian diet. Mamta disclosed in an interview with Aaj Tak that Mayank has been following a vegetarian diet for the past two years, whereas previously, he consumed non-vegetarian food.
“Mamta Yadav shared that Mayank has recently embraced a vegetarian lifestyle, opting for dal, roti, rice, milk, and veggies based on his dietary chart,” revealed Mamta during the conversation.
While the exact reasons for Mayank’s dietary shift remain unspecified, Mamta mentioned that her son cited two factors. Firstly, Mayank expressed a newfound belief in Lord Krishna, which could have influenced his decision. Secondly, he felt that non-vegetarian food was no longer compatible with his body.
“Mayank mentioned that non-vegetarian food wasn’t agreeing with his body as much. He attributed his dietary change to both his belief in Lord Krishna and its positive impact on his game and physique,” Mamta elaborated.
Amidst Mayank’s stellar performances in the IPL, Mamta expressed optimism about her son’s potential debut for the Indian cricket team in the near future. With several former cricketers advocating for Mayank’s inclusion in the national squad, there’s growing anticipation for his potential participation in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to commence in June.
As Mayank continues to shine on the IPL stage, his remarkable journey, coupled with his dietary transformation, underscores the holistic approach athletes undertake to excel in their sport.
