Lenny Kravitz received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, joined by his daughter Zoë Kravitz and close friend Denzel Washington. Reflecting on his Hollywood journey, the 59-year-old musician credited Norman Lear for his start in the industry, as Lear chose Kravitz’s mother, Roxie Roker, to star in “The Jeffersons.” Kravitz reminisced about moving to Los Angeles at 15, finding inspiration in the city’s streets.
Expressing gratitude to Hollywood for shaping his path, Kravitz recalled wandering Hollywood Boulevard in his youth, idolizing the stars’ names etched on the sidewalk. He admitted that while he never dreamed of having a star himself, he always aspired to create music on his own terms.
Denzel Washington, a longtime friend, spoke affectionately about their bond, declaring his love for Kravitz like no other brother. The event also saw the presence of “The Jeffersons” star Marla Gibbs and Zoë Kravitz’s fiancé, Channing Tatum, which Kravitz found “mind-blowing,” reuniting with those who supported him at the start of his career.
Kravitz acknowledged his determination to carve his own path in the music industry, refusing to compromise his vision despite tempting record deals. He remained steadfast in his pursuit of something special, guided by his heart and intuition.
