Renowned ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas, known for his enchanting voice and timeless melodies, has passed away at the age of 72. The Udhas family confirmed his demise, attributing it to a prolonged illness.

Sharing the heartbreaking news on Instagram, Pankaj Udhas’ daughter, Nayaab, expressed their profound sorrow, stating, “With a heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of the sad demise of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas on 26th February 2024 due to a prolonged illness.”

Following Nayaab’s announcement, an outpouring of condolences flooded the comment section from fans and well-wishers.

Despite diligently practicing his music during the lockdown, the absence of live audiences had taken its toll. However, his nerves transformed into tears of joy as he stepped onto the stage in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, to witness a crowd of 6,000 cheering fans. The overwhelming support reaffirmed his passion for music and marked a poignant moment after a prolonged separation from the stage.
