Kendrick Lamar’s Diss Sparks Response from J. Cole on Surprise Album ‘Might Delete Later’

“When Future and Metro Boomin released their recent collaborative album ‘We Don’t Trust You’ last month, Kendrick Lamar’s guest verse on ‘Like That’ sparked controversy as he took shots at Drake and J. Cole, referencing their inclusion of him in the ‘big three’ on their previous track ‘First Person Shooter.’

Responding directly to Lamar’s diss, J. Cole dropped a surprise project titled ‘Might Delete Later,’ where he addressed the issue on the concluding track ‘7 Minute Drill.’ In his lyrics, Cole acknowledges the diss, criticizing Lamar’s recent work compared to his earlier successes.

The tension between the rappers escalated after Lamar’s cameo on ‘Like That,’ where he expressed dissatisfaction with being grouped with Drake and J. Cole as the ‘big three.’ Lamar’s response prompted anticipation for retaliation from both Drake and J. Cole.

J. Cole’s ‘Might Delete Later’ includes 12 tracks featuring guest appearances from artists like Ari Lennox, Gucci Mane, and Bas. This release follows his sixth solo album, ‘The Off-Season,’ from 2021.”
