Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, made her first public appearance on Monday after being absent from the public eye for several months since December of last year. Reports indicate that the UK royal was seen near Windsor Castle on the outskirts of London. In a photograph, the Princess of Wales was observed seated in the passenger seat of an Audi being driven by her mother, Carole.
Kate had largely remained out of sight since December when she attended church services with her family. Trying to maintain a low profile, she wore sunglasses during her recent outing. However, her reappearance comes amidst various conspiracy theories circulating on the internet regarding her whereabouts.
According to Kensington Palace, the 42-year-old underwent a “planned abdominal surgery” in January and has been recuperating at home since then. A statement from the office of the Prince and Princess of Wales on January 17 mentioned that Kate would spend 10 to 14 days in the hospital after the surgery and then continue her recovery at home.
While some concerns about her prolonged absence have been raised, ranging from genuine to far-fetched conspiracy theories, the most prevalent speculation suggests that complications during the surgery led to Kate being placed in an induced coma.
Notably, Kate’s husband, Prince William, recently withdrew from a scheduled appearance at Windsor Castle citing a “personal matter.” Consequently, he has been attending events and galas alone, which is an unusual sight for the couple.
