Kareena Kapoor Khan Appointed UNICEF India’s National Ambassador: Championing Children’s Rights and Empowerment

Kareena Kapoor Khan, an iconic figure in Bollywood renowned for her acting prowess, has been appointed as the National Ambassador for UNICEF India, marking a significant milestone in her longstanding association with the organization.

Since 2014, Kareena has been actively engaged with UNICEF India, lending her voice and efforts to various social causes, including girls’ education, gender equality, foundational learning, immunization, and breastfeeding. At the appointment event, she passionately addressed critical issues surrounding child care, emphasizing the fundamental rights every child deserves, including safety, education, health, and nutrition.

Expressing her gratitude for the appointment, Kareena underscored the immense responsibility she feels in advocating for the rights of every child across India, irrespective of gender, ability, or socio-economic background. As a mother of two sons, Taimur and Jeh, she emphasized the importance of children having a voice and being heard, emphasizing active listening and engagement as essential aspects of parenting.

Moreover, Kareena highlighted the significance of nurturing children’s confidence, enabling them to dream big and innovate. She emphasized the pivotal role of confidence-building activities such as sports, drama, painting, and reading in shaping the future of children and the nation.

Amidst her UNICEF endeavors, Kareena continues to shine in her professional career. Her recent success in the film “Crew,” alongside Kriti Sanon and Tabu, further solidifies her position as a versatile and accomplished actor. Additionally, she is set to headline Hansal Mehta’s “The Buckingham Murders” and star in Rohit Shetty’s highly anticipated “Singham Again.”
