Sources from the BCCI selection committee suggest that for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul are poised to secure spots as wicketkeepers, with Shivam Dube likely to join them in the squad, citing his impressive performance in the shortest format over recent years. KL Rahul, leading the Lucknow Super Giants, stands as the third-highest run-scorer in IPL 2024, amassing 378 runs in nine matches with an average of 42 and a striking rate of 144.27.
Meanwhile, Shivam Dube has been in blistering form this season, emerging as a pivotal player for CSK and bolstering his case for a spot in the T20 World Cup squad. With 311 runs in eight matches at an impressive average of 51.83 and a striking rate of 169.94, including three half-centuries and a high score of 66*, Dube has been a standout performer for his franchise.
