Indian-American IT Professionals with their children Found Dead in San Mateo, California

Heartbreak and shock enveloped the community of San Mateo, California, as news emerged of the tragic demise of a family of four from Kerala, India. Anand Sujith Henry (42), his wife Alice Priyanka (40), and their young twin sons Noah and Neithan (4) were discovered lifeless inside their home on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

San Mateo police revealed that while two of the victims succumbed to gunshot wounds, the exact cause of death for the other two remains under investigation. The authorities have initiated a probe into the incident, initially considering the possibility of a murder-suicide scenario, though other potential explanations have not been ruled out.

Initially, family members speculated that carbon monoxide poisoning from faulty air conditioning or heating systems could have been responsible, citing past complaints of headaches and nausea from the household. However, thorough investigations by the police found no evidence of gas leaks or malfunctioning appliances within the residence.

As the community grapples with the tragic loss of the Henry family, questions linger, and authorities continue their efforts to unravel the circumstances surrounding this devastating event.

Who is Anand and Alice?

Anand and Alice, both seasoned IT professionals with nine years of residency in the United States, tragically met their demise in San Mateo County. Anand, a skilled software engineer, and Alice, a respected senior analyst, relocated from New Jersey to San Mateo County two years prior. Known for their amiable demeanor, strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication to their twin sons, the couple was widely admired by neighbors and colleagues alike.

In the wake of this heartbreaking incident, the Indian Consulate in San Francisco has extended its support to the grieving family members in India, providing essential consular assistance and expressing condolences to both the family and the broader Indian American community.

As authorities diligently pursue answers, the motive behind the deaths remains shrouded in mystery, pending the results of autopsy and forensic analysis. In a bid to unravel the truth, law enforcement has issued a public appeal, urging anyone with pertinent information to come forward and assist in the investigation.

This tragic occurrence adds to a series of unfortunate events involving Indian students in the United States. Just last week, the loss of Sameer Kamath, a Purdue University student found deceased in Warren County, further compounds the sorrow following the recent passing of Neel Acharya. Acharya, a promising student pursuing dual degrees in computer science and data science, was tragically discovered on campus after a distressing period of absence. His affiliation with the esteemed John Martinson Honors College underscored his academic prowess and potential.
