During the 2nd T20I against West Indies in Adelaide on Sunday, Glenn Maxwell demonstrated his prowess by notching his fifth T20 International century, thereby equaling Rohit Sharma’s record. Maxwell’s innings was a spectacular display of power-hitting as he amassed a blistering 120 runs off just 55 deliveries, inclusive of 12 boundaries and eight sixes. From the outset, Maxwell showcased his aggressive intent, consistently finding the ropes with an array of exquisite strokes, reaching his fifty in just 25 balls.

His partnership with Marcus Stoinis, who contributed 16 runs, yielded 82 runs, before the arrival of Tim David (31 off 14), another big-hitter, who joined forces with Maxwell to stitch together a formidable 95-run stand.

Maxwell, aged 35, has amassed a total of 2405 runs in 102 T20I appearances for Australia, boasting an impressive average of 30.83 and a striking rate of 155.26. His tally includes five centuries and 10 half-centuries.

In comparison, Rohit Sharma achieved his five T20I centuries in 151 matches, maintaining an average of 31.79 and a strike rate of 139.97. Additionally, the Indian captain has accumulated 29 half-centuries in this format.

Suryakumar Yadav currently occupies the second position on the list of most T20I hundreds, having scored four centuries in 60 matches.
