Former Employee Accuses Kanye West of Racism and Discrimination in Lawsuit Allegations”

In a recent lawsuit filed on Tuesday, a former employee named Trevor Phillips has made serious allegations against Kanye West, accusing him of anti-Black racism, as well as instances of homophobic and antisemitic behavior. Phillips, who is Black, claims that during his tenure at West’s companies, he was subjected to berating and humiliation, particularly in front of others. According to Phillips, West’s treatment of Black employees was notably worse than that of white employees.

Phillips was hired in November 2022 to work for Yeezy, West’s fashion brand, and also had responsibilities at Donda Academy, a private school founded by West. His role included overseeing a project aimed at developing a self-sustaining community through agriculture.

During this period, West’s career faced significant backlash following a series of antisemitic remarks made on social media and in interviews. Phillips alleges that West’s antisemitic tirades extended to staff meetings at Donda Academy, even in the presence of children. According to the lawsuit, West made derogatory comments about Jewish people, expressing paranoia about being targeted and having his finances controlled.

One particularly disturbing incident outlined in the lawsuit occurred during a meeting at the Nobu hotel in Malibu, where West allegedly expressed admiration for Hitler and expressed hatred towards Jewish people. Phillips claims that West also made inappropriate remarks about sexual activities and attacked gay individuals, accusing them of being controlled for population control purposes.

The lawsuit further details instances of discriminatory behavior, including an allegation that West ordered a Black security guard to shave his dreadlocks or face termination.

Phillips recounts a particularly humiliating experience at a “Sunday service” event at Donda Academy in May 2023, where West publicly fired him in front of over a hundred people, despite Phillips’ tearful gratitude for the opportunity to work for him. Following this incident, West allegedly threatened physical violence against Phillips and later rescinded a job offer.

In a bizarre turn of events, West directed Phillips to visit a farm in Fillmore, California, and report back with a recommendation on its purchase. Despite Phillips’ compliance, West ultimately revoked his employment once again.

The lawsuit paints a picture of a toxic work environment at Donda Academy, which has since closed down. Phillips seeks legal action against West, including an injunction to prevent him from owning or operating a school, in addition to claims of race discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination.
