Forbes India Leadership Awards 2024: Celebrating Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Institution-Building

This edition heralds the annual summit that embodies the essence of Forbes India: Leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, and wealth, both in creation and giving. The Forbes India Leadership Awards (FILA), now in its 13th year, stand on four robust pillars: Entrepreneur of the Year, CEO of the Year, and GenNext Entrepreneur, among others.

As the landscape evolves rapidly, so do the categories of FILA. This year, we introduce the Startup Value Creator Award, focusing on value creation rather than mere valuation. Additionally, categories like Regional Goliath, Emerging Climate Warrior, and Emerging Innovator capture the dynamic business, economic, and technological shifts.

Two noteworthy additions this year are the Institution Builder and Ecosystem Enabler awards. The former recognizes individuals who seized opportunities in the pre-liberalization era, building enduring institutions. Chosen by a distinguished jury chaired by Harsh Mariwala, the winner’s journey is chronicled in Salil Panchal’s ‘Beyond The Bank’.

The latter, Ecosystem Enabler, spotlights pioneers in deep tech, often overshadowed by mainstream tech sectors. This year’s recipient, a Padma Shri awardee and industry luminary, is celebrated for fostering industry-academia collaboration and spearheading innovation in diverse fields. Harichandan Arakali’s ‘The Deep Tech Doyen’ offers insights into his remarkable contributions.

While the award winners remain undisclosed, the cover features Sunil Vachani, Forbes India Entrepreneur of the Year and founder of the nation’s largest electronics manufacturing services company. Vachani’s vision for Dixon Technologies to become a global engineering powerhouse is detailed in Naini Thaker’s ‘His Maker’s Voice’.
