Suspect Andre Gordon, accused of a triple homicide in Falls Township, Pennsylvania, on Saturday morning, has been apprehended by law enforcement, authorities confirm.
Trenton, New Jersey, Police Director Steve Wilson stated, “He’s in custody. No one else was injured.”
The 26-year-old allegedly committed the killings at two different residences in Pennsylvania before carjacking a vehicle and fleeing to New Jersey.
Initially, authorities in Trenton believed Gordon was barricaded within a residence, prompting the establishment of a perimeter in the area, as per Wilson.
However, Wilson noted, “Apparently, before the perimeter was completed, the suspect was able to get out of the location unseen. However, our information was that he was still in there.”
Subsequently, Gordon was spotted walking on New York Avenue and was promptly stopped, identified, and taken into custody without any complications, according to Wilson.
Mayor Reed Gusciora expressed gratitude following Gordon’s arrest, emphasizing that the suspect was unarmed, cooperated with law enforcement, and provided his identity. Gusciora noted Gordon was apprehended just two blocks away from the presumed barricaded location.
Police continue to search both the residence and the carjacked vehicle for the weapon used in Saturday’s shooting, the mayor mentioned, adding that Gordon will remain in custody in New Jersey pending extradition to Pennsylvania.
Multiple Fatalities in Pennsylvania Shooting Spree; Suspect Apprehended
Police in Falls Township responded to a reported shooting on Viewpoint Lane in Levittown, Pennsylvania, just before 9 a.m.
According to Bucks County District Attorney Jennifer Schorn, Andre Gordon, driving a stolen vehicle, fatally shot his 52-year-old stepmother Karen Gordon and his 13-year-old sister Kera Gordon in their home on Viewpoint Lane. Three other individuals managed to hide from Gordon during the attack.
Afterward, Gordon proceeded to Edgewood Lane, where he fatally shot 25-year-old Taylor Daniel, with whom he shares two children. Four additional individuals were inside the home at the time, including Daniel’s mother, who sustained injuries from Gordon’s actions and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
Following the shootings, Gordon allegedly carjacked a 44-year-old driver at gunpoint in the parking lot of a Dollar General on Bristol Pike in Morrisville. Fortunately, the driver was unharmed. The carjacked vehicle, a Honda CRV, was later found abandoned in Trenton around 11:38 a.m., according to Falls Township Police.
Authorities believe Gordon was acquainted with all the victims except for the carjacking victim. Falls Township Police stated that Gordon is “believed to be currently homeless and has ties to the Trenton, New Jersey, area.” Despite initial reports suggesting Gordon had barricaded himself inside a Trenton home with hostages, Trenton Police confirmed that all individuals inside were safely evacuated without injuries.
The suspect is believed to be armed with an assault rifle, which he allegedly used in the commission of the crimes. Police also suspect Gordon may be in possession of additional weapons.
The FBI office in Philadelphia is closely monitoring the situation and working in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies. A shelter-in-place order for Falls Township was lifted after Gordon was confirmed to be in New Jersey.
Pennsylvania State Police are providing assistance with the investigation, and Governor Josh Shapiro stated that he has been briefed on the unfolding situation.
Falls Township is located approximately 28 miles northeast of Philadelphia, near the border between Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
