On March 5, around 12:00 PM in the Morozovsky district near the airfield, an explosive device detonated on one of the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that had crashed the previous night. Eight individuals conducting investigative operations were injured, as reported by Vasily Golubev, the governor of the Rostov region. Golubev stated that the wounded were transported to the regional hospital for medical treatment, with additional medical teams dispatched to Morozov.
Due to damage to power lines sustained during the previous night, approximately 600 residents in the Morozovsky district are currently without electricity. Emergency crews are actively engaged in repairing the infrastructure, with the substation sustaining minor damages, according to the governor.
Earlier reports from Yugopolis indicated that Morozovsk, home to a military airfield, experienced a significant UAV attack. The Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that 44 drones were intercepted by air defense forces. No information regarding damage to aircraft resulting from the attack has been disclosed.
Golubev mentioned that the explosions caused glass to shatter in several apartment units and inflicted damage to fences and outbuildings in a private residence. The regional government has pledged assistance to affected residents in the process of restoring their properties.
