Expert Analysis: Meghan Markle’s Potential UK Return with Prince Harry in Doubt for Singular Reason

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has been absent from UK soil since 2022, with no indication of a return throughout 2023 or the current year. Despite her husband Prince Harry’s upcoming trip to the UK for the tenth anniversary of the Invictus Games in London, speculation looms over whether Meghan will join him.

During her last visit, which was initially intended as a work trip, Meghan attended the funeral of the late Queen Elizabeth II. Now, as Prince Harry prepares to return, questions arise regarding Meghan’s potential presence.

Esther Krakue, a British commentator, shared her insights on GB News, suggesting that Meghan may opt out of the visit, particularly for one significant reason. Krakue explained, “I actually think she’s avoiding the UK because she’s not interested in the whole drama and, kind of, being injected, is she going to talk to [Princess] Kate and all of that.”

Krakue further speculated, “I personally think she’s not going to come because, obviously, Harry has lost his case with the Home Office and he said he doesn’t feel safe bringing his family over [to the UK].” She added, “I also think this is going to be a time where the distance between the Sussexes and the Royal Family will be calcified because the focus will obviously be on the Princess of Wales and the King recovering, they don’t need the whole Netflix drama.”

Apart from Meghan’s potential absence, questions also arise about whether the couple will bring their two children, four-year-old Prince Archie and two-year-old Princess Lilibet, who have spent minimal time in the UK. Prince Harry is scheduled to speak at a special service commemorating the anniversary of the Invictus Games at St. Paul’s Cathedral on May 8, further fueling speculation about Meghan’s attendance.
