Affected destinations include cities across India and Pakistan, as well as Saudi Arabia and Manchester.
The adverse weather conditions haven’t been limited to Dubai alone; neighboring emirates such as Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Al Ain have also been put on alert. Abu Dhabi experienced adverse weather on April 15, with reports of flooded highways. Meanwhile, neighboring Oman has witnessed heavy rains, resulting in 18 fatalities.
Images circulating on social media depict flooded roads in Dubai, with vehicles struggling to navigate through the inundated streets. Airlines like Emirates are advising passengers to arrive at the airport up to four hours before their scheduled flight time. The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has extended the operating hours of the Dubai Metro until 3 AM to facilitate smoother transit for travelers.
