The 77th BAFTA Film Awards, held at London’s Royal Festival Hall on February 18, witnessed director Christopher Nolan’s biopic film ‘Oppenheimer’ sweep seven wins, including Best Director, Best Film, and Best Leading Actor.
During the ceremony, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone had the honor of presenting the award for Best Film not in the English language to actor Jonathan Glazer for ‘The Zone Of Interest.’ The category featured other notable nominees such as ’20 Days in Mariupol’, ‘Anatomy of a Fall’, ‘Past Lives’, and ‘Society of the Snow.’
Sharing her experience on social media, Deepika expressed gratitude for being selected as an awards presenter, captioning her stories from the BAFTA event with the word “Gratitude.”
For the occasion, Deepika stunned in a golden and silver-hued shimmery saree adorned with sequins, paired with a matching blouse featuring strappy sleeves. Her dewy makeup, kohl-rimmed eyes, messy hair bun, and statement earrings completed the elegant look.
Netizens couldn’t help but praise Deepika’s appearance, with one commenting, “Deepika Padukone is representing India at the BAFTA Awards looking like a bomb.” Others lauded her fashion choice, with one remarking, “Deepika Padukone x Saree best combo.”
Some users humorously speculated about the impact of her look, with one saying, “Streets sayin the bomb might explode nine months from now.” Despite the attention, many appreciated her simplicity, with one user stating, “I love this simple look of her instead of random experiments.”
Deepika was among a prestigious list of BAFTA Award presenters, including former England football star David Beckham, singer Dua Lipa, Cate Blanchett, Adjoa Andoh of ‘Bridgerton’, ‘Wonka’ Oompa Loompa Hugh Grant, and ‘Emily in Paris’s’ Lily Collins. The ceremony was streamed live on Lionsgate Play in India.
