Country music sensation Morgan Wallen found himself in a bit of trouble on Sunday night, spending the evening behind bars after reportedly tossing a chair from the rooftop of a popular Broadway bar.
According to the arrest affidavit, witnesses observed the 30-year-old Wallen atop Chief’s Bar around 10:45 p.m., where he allegedly grabbed a chair, hurled it over the roof, and chuckled about it. The rooftop of the establishment towers six stories above Broadway.
Two officers from the Metro Nashville Police Department were stationed below on Broadway and reported that the chair landed perilously close to them, just three feet away, as per the affidavit. Bar staff, as well as eyewitnesses, corroborated Wallen’s purported actions, further supported by security footage reviewed by authorities.
Wallen was promptly arrested and booked shortly after 12:30 a.m., facing three charges of felony reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor. He posted a bond of $15,250 and was released from Davidson County jail by around 3:30 a.m.
In response to the incident, Wallen’s attorney, Worrick Robinson, issued a statement acknowledging the arrest: “At 10:53 p.m. on Sunday evening, Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is fully cooperating with authorities.”
Chief’s Bar, owned by fellow country music luminary Eric Church, had just celebrated its grand opening over the weekend.
