This Sunday, the highly anticipated CMT Awards returns to Austin, taking place at the city’s Moody Center. The ceremony will air live at 8 p.m. on the East Coast and tape-delayed at the same hour on the West Coast. For those unable to tune in on TV, the event will be available to stream live and on-demand on Paramount+.
With a five-way tie for the most nominations, artists Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Cody Johnson, Megan Moroney, and the show’s host, Kelsea Ballerini, each snagged three nods.
The competition for the top prize, Video of the Year, is fierce with 16 candidates initially presented to fans for voting. The field was narrowed down to six before the final three were determined through additional voting on show day. Jelly Roll leads with nominations for his hit “Need a Favor,” also contending for Male Video of the Year and CMT Performance of the Year.
Ballerini is in the running with “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too)” for Video of the Year, “Penthouse” for Female Video of the Year, and her live rendition of “If You Go Down” for CMT Performance of the Year. This marks her fourth and final year as the host of the awards show.
The star-studded lineup of performers promises an unforgettable evening, featuring Bailey Zimmerman, Keith Urban, Sam Hunt, and nominated artists Wilson, Jelly Roll, and Ballerini.
