Cardi B Expresses Disappointment with Biden Administration Ahead of 2024 Election

American rapper Cardi B, who supported Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential elections, has expressed significant disappointment with his administration and policies as the next presidential elections approach. In an interview with Rolling Stone published on Thursday, the “WAP” rapper shared her disillusionment, stating she has experienced “layers and layers of disappointment” and feels that “people got betrayed.”

Cardi B criticized the Biden administration for rising living costs and poor management both domestically and internationally. She expressed frustration, saying, “It’s just like, damn, y’all not caring about nobody.” The 31-year-old artist lamented that while there are viable solutions to these issues, the government is instead “spending billions of dollars” on other priorities.

The rapper voiced her fears about being “blackballed” for discussing sensitive topics like the Israel-Hamas conflict in Gaza. She criticized America’s involvement in prolonged conflicts, saying, “[America] don’t pay for endless wars for countries that have been going through s— for a very long time.” Cardi B emphasized that children are dying in various countries daily, but because the U.S. does not benefit from those countries, they do not intervene.

Cardi B expressed her disdain for America’s self-imposed role as a global “superhero.” She argued that America’s actions are driven by self-interest rather than altruism, stating, “I don’t like that America has this superhero cape on” and “we did things for our own convenience.”

Last year, Cardi B announced her decision not to vote in the upcoming presidential election in November, criticizing the Biden administration for allocating foreign aid to “fund two wars” while New York City faced budget cuts. She clarified that she would not endorse any presidential candidates, criticizing both Donald Trump and Joe Biden during her Rolling Stone interview.

Cardi B has been outspoken about political and social issues. In 2020, she publicly supported Joe Biden, voting for him after initially endorsing Senator Bernie Sanders. After Sanders withdrew from the Democratic primary, she shifted her support to Biden, stating, “I’m just gonna go with Joe Biden because I cannot see the next step of America being ran by number 45,” indirectly criticizing then-President Donald Trump.
