A woman took to social media to share a harrowing experience, detailing the brutality inflicted upon her and her partner by assailants. Despite initially sharing the incident, they later removed the post at the request of Jharkhand Police to avoid interfering with the ongoing investigation. “Something has happened to us that we would not wish on anyone. Seven men have raped me,” the woman on her social media said.
“The police advised removing the post to aid the investigation. I’ll repost later,” she shared on her Instagram stories. “My face looks like this, but it’s not what hurts me the most. I thought we were going to die. Thank God we are alive,” she added.
Following the traumatic incident, three suspects have been arrested, with authorities continuing the search for the remaining culprits. A special investigation team (SIT) has been assembled to ensure a thorough inquiry into the crime.
The victims, presently undergoing treatment at a local hospital, are stable but are being closely monitored for any psychological distress. “Both are stable and receiving medical care. The male victim sustained minor injuries. A comprehensive medical evaluation, including a panel of specialists, is underway,” stated a doctor at the hospital.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has criticized the delay in capturing all suspects and has pledged support to the survivor and her partner. The incident has ignited public outrage and scrutiny of the law enforcement system in Jharkhand, prompting political leaders to demand accountability and swift justice for the affected couple.
