On May 1, 2024, rumors swirled through social media platforms alleging the demise of Goldy Brar, a notorious figure in the world of organized crime, particularly notorious for his alleged involvement in the murder of Punjabi singer Siddhu Moosewala. The speculation suggested that Brar had met his end through a fatal shooting incident in the United States. However, authorities swiftly moved to dispel these claims.
The Fresno Police Department in California released an official statement addressing the confusion. They clarified that the individual who had tragically lost his life in a shooting incident was not Goldy Brar. Instead, the victim was identified as 37-year-old Xavier Gladney. According to the police report, the incident occurred on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at the intersection of Fairmont Avenue and Holt Avenue, following a ShotSpotter activation.
Upon their arrival at the scene, officers discovered Xavier Gladney suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to the Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC), Gladney succumbed to his injuries. Additionally, another victim, a thirteen-year-old juvenile, sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was also transported to CRMC for medical treatment. This juvenile was present at the scene when the fatal shooting of Gladney occurred.
The Fresno Police Department expressed their bewilderment regarding the spread of misinformation linking the incident to Goldy Brar. They emphasized that the origin of these rumors did not stem from their agency. Instead, they pointed out that international news outlets had disseminated the false information without verifying it with the authorities.
Goldy Brar, known to be associated with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, gained infamy after purportedly claiming responsibility for the murder of Siddhu Moosewala through a post on Facebook. Moosewala, a popular Punjabi singer, met his untimely demise when he was fatally shot in his car near his village in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29, 2022. Brar’s alleged involvement in Moosewala’s murder had heightened public interest in his activities, leading to widespread speculation surrounding his fate. However, the recent events in Fresno underscored the importance of discerning accurate information from baseless rumors, especially in matters as serious as criminal investigations.
