Bev Brock, Former Partner of Australian Motorsport Icon Peter Brock, Passes Away at 77

The Brock family has confirmed the sad news of Bev Brock’s passing at the age of 77. This comes two years after the diagnosis of stage 4 cancer for the beloved motorsport figure.

James Brock, her son, shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, highlighting Bev’s dedication as a parent and her integral role in supporting Peter’s racing career.

According to reports from The Herald Sun, Bev passed away at her Melbourne residence on Sunday morning. Bev and Peter shared nearly three decades together before their separation in 2005, during which they had two children, Alexandra and Robert. Bev also had a son named James from her previous marriage to James McIntosh.

While Bev and Peter’s relationship ended in 2005, with Peter later engaged to Julie Bamford until his tragic death in a rally accident in Perth the following year, Bev remained a significant figure in Australian motorsport. She authored two books about Peter and their life together, receiving recognition with a Medal of the Order of Australia.

Despite the complexities of their relationship, Bev spoke fondly of Peter in her 2014 autobiography, acknowledging his public persona and his private vulnerabilities. She also expressed her acceptance of his decision to move on with his life, emphasizing her desire for his happiness.
