Balkaur Singh, the father of the late singer Sidhu Moosewala, has joyfully announced the arrival of their newborn son. Taking to Instagram in Punjabi, Singh expressed gratitude for the blessings and support they’ve received from countless well-wishers. He shared the news with immense joy, stating that their family has been blessed with the addition of a new member, a younger brother to their beloved late son, Shubhdeep.
Earlier reports had circulated suggesting that Sidhu Moosewala’s mother, Charan Kaur, was expecting a child and was due to deliver in March. Moosewala had been the sole child of his parents, who are now in their late 50s. Sources indicated that Moosewala’s parents had utilized In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and had undergone the procedure overseas the previous year.
Just days before the birth announcement, Balkaur Singh had seemingly dismissed the pregnancy rumors, urging Sidhu’s well-wishers not to lend credence to the speculations circulating about the family. He had clarified on Facebook that any significant news regarding the family would be shared directly with their supporters.
Tragically, Sidhu Moosewala was fatally shot on May 29, 2022. Satwinder Singh, also known as Goldy Brar, claimed responsibility for the murder, which sent shockwaves through the Punjab music industry. Brar, associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was identified as a key perpetrator. Moosewala sustained 19 gunshot wounds and succumbed to hemorrhagic shock within minutes, as revealed by the post-mortem report.
In addition to his music career, Moosewala had ventured into politics, contesting from Mansa on a Congress ticket in the 2022 Punjab Assembly Elections. Despite his efforts, he was defeated by Aam Aadmi Party’s Dr. Vijay Singla. Moosewala joined the Congress party in December 2021, marking a significant shift in his public persona.
