In a recent development, Angelina Jolie’s legal representatives have strongly criticized Brad Pitt’s request for access to her past Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), labeling it as “unreasonable” and “abusive.” This response follows Pitt’s challenge to Jolie’s abuse claims and NDAs earlier this month, particularly regarding their $500 million winery.
According to a report by Page Six, Pitt’s lawyers aim to argue that Jolie has had or considered other NDAs with unrelated parties over the years, suggesting that his proposed NDA concerning spousal and child abuse couldn’t have been the sole reason for their deal’s collapse.
Jolie’s legal team vehemently opposes this request, stating that it would infringe upon the rights of third parties involved in those agreements. They emphasize that Pitt’s demand lacks prior notice to these parties and would impose significant financial and logistical burdens on Jolie. Describing Pitt’s actions as “abusive conduct,” they assert that compelling Jolie to compile and produce such extensive documentation is unjustified and wasteful.
Previously, Jolie’s lawyers alleged that Pitt restricted her ability to sell her shares in the winery without signing an NDA. Pitt’s motion filed on April 5 sought disclosure of the number of confidentiality agreements Jolie has imposed on her staff, following her claims of abuse by Pitt preceding the 2016 plane incident involving their children.
