Actor Cole Brings Plenty, who had been missing since Sunday amid a domestic violence investigation, was tragically discovered deceased, authorities in Kansas announced Friday.
Deputies responded to a report of an unoccupied vehicle in a wooded area approximately 43 miles southwest of Kansas City, Kansas, shortly before noon on Friday. There, they found the body of the 27-year-old actor, as stated by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.
Details regarding the cause of death have not yet been disclosed. Johnson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson McKenzi Davis stated, “Our office is still investigating this incident, and I will provide updates as we learn more.”
Cole Brings Plenty was recognized for his role in the “Yellowstone” spinoff “1923.”
Earlier in the week, police in Lawrence, Kansas, reported that Brings Plenty was spotted driving south from the city’s center in his Ford Explorer SUV following an alleged domestic violence incident on Sunday.
Family members, including his uncle Moses Brings Plenty, known for his appearances in “Yellowstone” and “1923,” raised concerns and feared the worst.
Moses Brings Plenty utilized his Instagram account to share missing person fliers for his nephew, expressing skepticism regarding the allegations of domestic violence made by Lawrence police. He also doubted the notion of his nephew being on the run.
One flier noted that Brings Plenty’s phone had been turned off, intensifying worries. His uncle described his disappearance as “anomalous” and urged authorities to locate him.
Lawrence police stated on Thursday that they were coordinating with the family and pursuing leads in their search for the actor.
Although an arrest warrant for Cole Brings Plenty was supported by a police affidavit, the narrative remains undisclosed, pending formal charges, as per the district attorney’s office for the region.
