After Kendrick Lamar’s explosive debut with “Euphoria” earlier this week, the pgLang artist isn’t holding back. Following Drake’s footsteps with a “Back-to-Back” move, Lamar drops his latest diss track, “6:16 in LA.”
Released in the early hours of Friday morning (May 3), Lamar doesn’t mince words as he launches a barrage of attacks at Drake. He accuses Drake of having traitors within his OVO squad, suggesting that they may be secretly working against him. Lamar’s lyrics hit hard, with lines like, “Fake bully, I hate bullies / You must be a terrible person / Everyone inside your team is whispering that you deserve it.”
Continuing his onslaught, Lamar calls out Drake’s inner circle, suggesting that some of them may be plotting against him. With a mix of betrayal and suspicion, Lamar raps, “100 n—as that you got on salary / and 20 of them want you as a casualty / and one of them is actually / is next to you / and two of them is practically tied to your lifestyle.”
With “Euphoria” already racking up an impressive 9.2 million Spotify streams on its debut day, Lamar’s decision to strike again has fans buzzing with anticipation for Drake’s response. While Drake initially seemed unfazed, posting a clip from the 1999 rom-com “10 Things I Hate About You” on Instagram, his recent comments during a Pink Friday Tour stop with Nicki Minaj suggest otherwise. With a cryptic hint at retaliation, Drake teased, “You know what time it is — you know what I have to do.”
