SNL Weekend Update Roasts Ye and Diddy’s Controversies, Kristen Wiig Enters Five-Timer’s Club

During the latest episode of “Saturday Night Live Weekend Update,” hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che didn’t hold back when discussing recent controversies surrounding Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) and Diddy.

Regarding a lawsuit filed by former Ye employee Trevor Phillips, accusing the musician of discriminatory behavior, Che remarked, “In the lawsuit against Ye, a former employee alleges that Ye compared himself to Hitler, minus the gas chambers.”

Che followed up with a sarcastic quip, saying, “I, for one, am surprised to hear that Ye acknowledges the Holocaust.” (Ye has previously made headlines for his pro-Trump stance and controversial statements.)

Transitioning to another troubled figure in the hip-hop world, Colin Jost referenced a dated episode of “Live with Kelly & Mark” in which host Kelly Ripa expressed a desire to be on Diddy’s yacht. Jost pointed out the irony given the current investigation into Diddy’s alleged misconduct and his son Christian’s involvement in a sexual assault lawsuit related to a yacht charter.

Jost then teased his co-anchor, saying, “Even more surprising, ‘SNL’ is airing an episode right now featuring a guy who was on Diddy’s yacht last week!” A photoshopped image of Michael Che on a yacht appeared on screen, prompting Che to shake his head with a smirk.

Kristen Wiig hosted the April 6 episode, marking her fifth time as a host and earning her a spot in the prestigious “Five-Timer’s Club.” The episode featured appearances by other “Five-Timer’s Club” members including Paul Rudd, Jon Hamm, and Martin Short, with musical guest Raye performing.
