In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, a representative for the rapper stated, “The recent disturbing allegations made by Daphne Joy in court filings regarding the mother of my twelve-year-old child have compelled me to take legal action to protect my son Sire. These baseless accusations appear to be a response to my pursuit of sole custody of my son. My primary concern is Sire’s safety, and I am fully focused on ensuring he remains in a secure environment.”
Earlier on Instagram, Joy accused 50 Cent of past sexual assault and abuse. The couple dated in 2011 and had a son, Sire, in 2012, but their relationship ended shortly afterward.
Joy wrote in a lengthy post, “Curtis James Jackson, you treat everything as a joke until it jeopardizes our safety, which is happening now. Your actions are causing real chaos in people’s lives. How would you feel if Sire were the one facing unjust consequences? We moved to New York to give you a chance to be a father, but you barely saw him despite living just a mile away for two years. I can no longer maintain the facade of the fatherly image you never earned.”
She continued, “Let’s focus on your true wrongdoing: raping and physically abusing me. You have lost any hope of being a father to our family with these false accusations. You have broken our hearts for the last time.”
These accusations surfaced as 50 Cent sought sole custody of their son following Joy’s involvement in a lawsuit filed by Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones against Sean “Diddy” Combs, alleging sex trafficking and abuse.
Joy was named in the suit alongside Combs’ ex-girlfriend Yung Miami, accused of receiving financial compensation for sex work with the Bad Boy Records founder.
However, Joy vehemently denied the allegations, stating on Instagram, “I am deeply wounded by the false claims in Rodney Jones’ lawsuit. The accusation that I am involved in sex work is entirely fabricated and an attack on my character. I am seeking legal counsel to address these falsehoods and pursue justice against both Rodney and his attorney.”
