4.1 Magnitude Earthquake Rattles Riverside County, Prompting Response

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake occurred near Corona in Riverside County. Initially reported as a 4.5 magnitude tremor, it was later revised to 4.1. The quake struck at 1:49 p.m., approximately 5.3 miles from Corona. Residents in Riverside felt a sudden jolt, while viewers in Orange County, including Santa Ana, reported experiencing shaking.

The earthquake prompted the Los Angeles Fire Department to activate “earthquake mode,” with all 106 stations conducting surveys in their coverage areas for any signs of damage. Fortunately, no immediate reports of injuries or damage were received.

This seismic event followed a series of smaller earthquakes in the same area the previous day, with magnitudes ranging from 2.5 to 2.8.
